Nah you're good. I got some for my kids and you can bypass the activation. However, though, there is no SIM for it as the first gen Moto G only has 3G and Verizon's 3G is CDMA based. The SIM slot is actually inoperable, so you couldn't slap in another carrier's GSM based SIM in it and get it to work.
